Education
Knowledge is the ultimate infrastructure
Empowering Cambodia's Next Generation of Leaders
Our Heritage
A Legacy Worth Building On
Education in Cambodia traces to Buddhist pagoda schools that preserved Khmer language and culture for generations. The French introduced formal secular education. After the devastation of the 1970s — when intellectuals were targeted and schools destroyed — Cambodia undertook one of history's most inspiring educational recoveries. Literacy rates climbed from near zero to over 80%. Universities reopened. A generation of Cambodians earned degrees abroad and returned to rebuild.

Right Now
Where We Stand Today
Enrollment at primary and secondary levels is strong. Phnom Penh hosts growing universities and tech bootcamps. Yet rural schools lack resources, STEM education lags behind neighbors, vocational training doesn't match market demand, and university graduates face a skills gap. Cambodia's youthful population — 65% under 30 — is its greatest asset waiting to be unlocked.
